Partnering with Collette on this 6-day trip.

Just $1,799 based on double occupancy.

Travel protection $269 per person.

Day 1

Travel Day with Evening in Boston

Grab a book or download a movie and take a 5 ½ hour Acela Amtrak ride with me and other group members to Boston. Or, feel free to join us in Boston by car, air or a different train schedule. There will be plenty of time to unpack and settle into our accommodations, which we will enjoy for the next five nights. Welcome reception with our Collette tour director at 6 p.m. Dinner is on your own tonight so I am happy to help you with recommendations and reservations.

Day 2

Take in Boston this morning on a panoramic city tour. You’ll see and learn more about the Old South Meeting House, Boston Common, and the Federal-style rowhouses of Beacon Hill. Our tour ends in Faneuil Hall, where you’ll have free time to explore and try a local lunch favorite, like clam chowder. The true heart of Boston, Faneuil Hall has been a marketplace and meeting hall since 1743.

After that, it’s your time to discover Boston on your own. Perhaps you’ll follow the Freedom Trail from Faneuil Hall to “Old Ironsides,” the USS Constitution. Or, you could use your included Uber voucher to head to Fenway Park for a tour, or Uber to the Museum of Fine Arts. Tonight, sit down to dinner at a local restaurant with your fellow travelers and toast new friends.

Breakfast & Dinner included.

Day 3

Today we head to Lexington and Concord. Our first stop will be Minute Man National Historic Park, named for the militiamen who could be “ready in a minute’s notice.”  We will enjoy an in-depth multi-media presentation.

Afterwards, head to the exact spot where the “shot heard ‘round the world” was fired, the Old North Bridge. Then, we’re off to nearby Lexington to visit Buckman’s Tavern and the Lexington Battle Green.

Enjoy free time for lunch in the timeless atmosphere of downtown Lexington, before departing to Cambridge. Enjoy a tour of one of the most storied institutions of learning in the world – Harvard University. Get an insider’s perspective straight from a student, as they lead us on a tour, highlighting the history, culture, and famous figures of the school. Evening in Boston at leisure, or add an optional Boston Harbor sunset cruise.

Breakfast included.

Day 4

Today we head to the North Shore, to the city of Salem. When we arrive, it’s your choice! Choose a tour focusing on the dangerous but profitable maritime trade that built not only mansions, but Salem’s rich culture. Or, visit the sites of the Salem Witch Trials, where neighbor turned on neighbor in a frenzy of suspicion.

Afterwards, take a stroll down the cobblestones of Essex Street to enjoy the quirky shops and great dining, or just relax and admire views of the harbor. You’ll have time to tour the House of the Seven Gables, made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Breakfast & lunch included.

Day 5

Start the day your way -- it’s your choice! Visit the Presidential Library & Museum of John F. Kennedy, built by legendary architect I.M. Pei. Or, discover the highlights and hidden gems of Boston with a photo walking tour that will take you through Copley Square, the Public Garden, Beacon Hill, and some off-the-beaten-path stops too. This afternoon, we’ll have free time to explore Boston on our own. I can help you arrange to visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, a mansion-turned-museum with a lush inner courtyard, infamous for a legendary art heist. Or, I can steer you to the best shopping blocks in the city on Newbury Street. Afterwards, we will gather for a farewell dinner with our fellow travelers.

Breakfast & Dinner included.
